This is the village Chimasuko. One of the villages we did outreach at.
Bananas...bananas...bananas and more bananas!! It was winter in Zambia and the only fruit that was in huge supply was bananas and we ate A LOT!! We even had banana jam!
This is an outdoor class room at Tikondane (the local community center)
It is hard to see but the two men on bikes have pigs strapped to the back of their bikes. I thought they must have been slaughtered for meat and they were in transport. I was wrong. They are strapped on alive and transported to market where they will be sold for meat!
This is one of the classrooms that we would set up our makeshift clinic for outreach maternity clinic. We did general prenatal appointments with the women that came as well as HIV counselling and testing. A nurse from the hospital joined us and weighs and vaccinates babies.
